Pedro Massarrão began his cello studies at just 5 years old, and has since established himself as a prominent musician. He completed his education under the guidance of renowned instructors in Lisbon and the Netherlands, earning a master’s degree in 2021.
As a founding member of the Trio Adamastor and a collaborator with various esteemed ensembles, Pedro has performed in prestigious venues across Europe and participated in numerous international festivals. In addition to his classical work, he explores free improvisation, having released the album “Miniatures”, in 2021.
Now, he brings his exceptional artistry to the MANIFEST stage, setting the tone for an unforgettable evening as we open this year’s film festival.


Amadeu Lança was born in Mafra, in 2006, and began his musical journey as a percussionist at the age of 8, in the Santo Isidoro Youth Symphony Orchestra, with teachers Paulo Assunção and Sérgio Gomes. In 2017, he entered the Sintra Music Conservatory.
With the aim of making music his professional career, at the age of 14 he joined EPM (Metropolitana’s Professional School), having studied with teachers Marco Fernandes, Miguel Herrera and Tomás Moital. In 2024, he began his studies at ESART (School of Applied Arts).
